Care Guide.
Bio-acetate is a living material. Treated well, it develops a soft patina without losing structure. A few small habits are all it takes.
Daily cleaning
Rinse the frame under cool, running water to lift dust and salt. Add a single drop of mild, fragrance-free soap, rub gently with your fingertips over the lenses and nose pads, and rinse again. Pat dry with the microfibre cloth supplied in your case. Avoid hot water — it softens acetate.
What to avoid
- — Alcohol, acetone, ammonia, or household cleaners
- — Paper tissues, shirt tails, or anything coarse on the lenses
- — Leaving frames on the dashboard of a car or near direct heat
- — Pushing frames up onto the top of your head; it stretches the temples
Storage
When not in use, keep the frame in its travel case. If you set it down, rest it folded with the lenses facing up. For long storage, keep it away from direct sunlight and humidity.
Adjustments
Hinges and temples loosen gently over time — this is normal. Visit any optician for a free adjustment, or send the frame to our Milan atelier and we will reset it by hand at no charge for the first two years.
Repairs & refurbishment
We offer hinge replacement, polishing, and lens refits for the lifetime of every frame. Write to hello@stanleypaulsen.com with a few photographs and we will return a quote within a week.
